Handmade Cornish Engine House mosaic created from upcycled vintage china

£20.00

I love the iconic shape of the now abandoned engine houses scattered throughout Cornwall, especially the ones at Botallack, near Penzance, which were used for many scenes in the BBC Poldark series, and I felt inspired to pay homage to the buildings which were responsible for so much of Cornwall’s economic wealth and which are now protected by being classified as a World Heritage Site.  This photo shows one of my  handmade Cornish Engine House mosaics made using upcycled vintage china sourced from Cornwall and Devon. Each piece of china is hand cut, and each mosaic is unique. Just because something is broken doesn’t mean it can’s be repurposed : ) The mosaic is 6 inches tall, and comes with Cornish Tartan ribbon, ready for hanging. Please note these mosaics are made with china and are not suitable as toys. This photo shows the actual mosaic you will receive. This mosaic has a black grout and black painted reverse. Handmade Cornish Engine House mosaic created from upcycled vintage china

This is my take on the iconic Cornish Engine House made using Upcycled Vintage china. Just because something is broken, that doesn’t mean it can’t be repurposed. When a plate or saucer is no longer fit for purpose I reuse it to create these Cornish Engine Houses.   Each mosaic is 15cm at highest, set on a wooden base with mosaic on one side.
